Pie Named Official Building Enclosure Consultant for The Green Schoolhouse Series (AZ & TX)

Pie Consulting & Engineering (Pie) has been named the official building enclosure consultant for The Green Schoolhouse Series (GSHS) for the Phoenix AZ Safari School Project and the Dallas TX School Project.

2012-08-16
ARVADA, CA, August 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) Pie Consulting & Engineering (Pie) has been named the official building enclosure consultant for The Green Schoolhouse Series (GSHS) for the Phoenix AZ Safari School Project and the Dallas TX School Project. GSHS is a collaborative, volunteer-based non-profit organization that replaces outdated and environmentally toxic classrooms in underdeveloped communities with LEED-platinum classrooms. The all-new, donated classrooms are built in line with the GSHS mission: to build healthy, high-performance schools with quality indoor air.

Pie will donate its expertise in the form of building enclosure design reviews for both of the respective projects.

All schools are 100 percent built by donations from GSHS partners including: materials, labor, engineering services, and finishing. Built LEED-platinum, the classrooms use 33 percent less energy and 30 percent less water.

GSHS classrooms are typically constructed in a short 6-week window via the talents of hundreds of skilled corporate and community volunteers. The project series are made possible through the financial support of corporate America and the AEC community.

"Pie has always operated under the belief that giving back to the communities which we impact is a responsibility for the blessings we as a company have been given. Having the ability to donate our typical "for paid" services and expertise on projects for such a great cause is truly rewarding. We are excited about the positive impact that these schools will have in both the Phoenix and Dallas communities." - Eric Amhaus, Pie Principal.
