Mozart Cafe to Open at Fountains Center in Boca Raton in Time For Jewish Holidays

Israeli-owned eatery slated for September opening in Boca Raton. Mozart Cafe can accommodate patrons who observe kosher laws.

2012-08-18
BOCA RATON, FL, August 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) Mozart Cafe, the kosher-dairy Israeli restaurant with three locations in South Florida, plans to open another eatery prior to the Jewish holidays in September. It will be located at the Fountains Center office and retail park in Boca Raton.

Mozart Cafe signed a 10-year lease for 5,000 square feet on the ground floor at 7300 West Camino Real within Fountains Center. Ayal Frist with commercial real estate brokerage firm Stateland Brown handled the transition on behalf of the restaurant's owner/operator Shimi Avni and the center's landlord Boca Medical Plaza, LLC.

Boca Medical Plaza's Managing Partner Zvi Schwarzman, a resident of Boca Raton and Boston, approached Avni after his investor group acquired the mixed-use complex earlier this year. Schwarzman told Avni that they would be making multi-million-dollar improvements to all seven properties on the site, and they would renovate and do a custom build-out to accommodate his restaurant.

"It was a great offer and it's a great location, in the heart of Boca Raton where many of our patrons live in surrounding communities," Avni said. "Because the restaurant is kosher and there are many religious residents in the area, Mozart Cafe will be nearby to serve them."

Offering a family-friendly menu of healthy Mediterranean fare in a casual setting, Mozart Cafe will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays, closing at sundown on Fridays and reopening after sundown on Saturdays. Fish dishes, sushi, salads, pizza, paninis, eggplant, tahini, malawach and more are offered along with desserts, beer and wine.

Besides a bar and table seating indoors, there will be outdoor seating overlooking the Fountain Center's central garden courtyard featuring water features and footbridges.

Avni opened his first Mozart Cafe in Hollywood in 2007, then subsequently opened locations in Deerfield Beach and Sunny Isles Beach. The Boca Raton opening will represent a further expansion of his home-grown business.

Approximately once a month, Mozart Cafe plans to have teens and youngsters with special needs greet customers, assist in the kitchen, take orders and serve. The children will be able to keep their tips, and Avni said he will donate a portion of the evening's business to Friendship Circle, a Jewish organization that extends a helping hand to families who have children with autism and other special needs, and involves them in a full range of social experiences. "It's gratifying to be able to help these kids learn new skills. They learn by doing. These shared experiences empower the children, while enriching the lives of everyone involved," he said.

Avni noted that he will also be supportive of another organization, the National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY), whose southern regional office is within Fountains Center. Mozart Cafe's grand opening at Fountains Center is expected to be a fundraiser for NCSY.
