Christmas comes early as leading used van retailer Anchor Vans reports increase in sales of long wheel base courier vans

Anchors Vans has reported an early upsurge in sales of used long wheel base vans used by courier companies in the lead up to the Christmas deliveries peak.

2010-10-06
PADWORTH, ENGLAND, October 06, 2010 (Press-News.org) Anchor Vans - one of the leading vendors of used vans in the UK reports an early upsurge in sales of used long wheel base vans used by courier companies in the lead up to the Christmas deliveries peak. A month earlier than the usual annual increase in courier van sales, Anchor Vans reports that Ford, Iveco, Mercedes and Volkswagen long wheel base models are selling well. For more information call 0118 9710 230 or go to http://www.anchorvans.co.uk.

"Every year in the lead up to Christmas we see an increase in sales of used long wheel base vans used by couriers," said Simon Joyce, Sales Director for Anchor Vans. "It's just started earlier than usual this year. Perhaps people are hoping for the sales to be more focused on this side of the New Year with the VAT rise coming in 2011, and so are moving stock and preparing for Christmas early. Whatever the reason, we're certainly pleased it's happening!"

When asked which models tend to be used as courier vans, Simon replied; "There are four models in particular that are doing very well. The first is the Ford Transit Jumbo, then there's the Iveco long wheel base high roof Jumbo too. The Mercedes Sprinter Long wheel base high roof van is a perennial favourite and the Volkswagen Crafter long wheel base high roof van is a popular one for couriers too. These vans can handle a lot of deliveries, are fuel efficient and reliable workhorses too," Simon added. "It'll be interesting to see which one comes out as the favourite by the end of the season."
