"Every year in the lead up to Christmas we see an increase in sales of used long wheel base vans used by couriers," said Simon Joyce, Sales Director for Anchor Vans. "It's just started earlier than usual this year. Perhaps people are hoping for the sales to be more focused on this side of the New Year with the VAT rise coming in 2011, and so are moving stock and preparing for Christmas early. Whatever the reason, we're certainly pleased it's happening!"
When asked which models tend to be used as courier vans, Simon replied; "There are four models in particular that are doing very well. The first is the Ford Transit Jumbo, then there's the Iveco long wheel base high roof Jumbo too. The Mercedes Sprinter Long wheel base high roof van is a perennial favourite and the Volkswagen Crafter long wheel base high roof van is a popular one for couriers too. These vans can handle a lot of deliveries, are fuel efficient and reliable workhorses too," Simon added. "It'll be interesting to see which one comes out as the favourite by the end of the season."
