PHOENIX, AZ, August 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Viridian Health Management, an industry leader in worksite wellness dedicated to changing employee health behaviors through targeted, outcomes-based health improvement programs and services, is proud to announce the appointment of Robert Eric Dinenberg, MD, MPH, to the position of chief medical officer. In this role, Dr. Dinenberg will be responsible for overseeing clinical interventions, health coaching, the development of innovations in health coach training, and the development of cutting-edge programs that address cost and quality in health care.
"Eric brings a strong combination of industry experience and knowledge in helping patients and employees to achieve greater health and well-being—especially emotional well-being," said Viridian President and Chief Executive Officer, Brenda Schmidt. "Eric's significant experience in integrative medicine and stress reduction will be tremendous assets to Viridian and I welcome him as a valued member of the executive leadership team."

Based out of San Diego, Calif., Dinenberg is looking forward to sharing his knowledge, expertise and best practices with the Viridian team and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help employers integrate safety and health promotion, reduce health-care costs that are driven by chronic diseases and promote healthier behavior in the workplace.
Dinenberg earned his medical degree at Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Penn., completed his family practice internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn., his occupational and environmental medicine residency at University of California, San Francisco, and his Master of Public Health at University of California, Berkeley.
Industry Leader in Worksite Health:
Further positioning Viridian Health Management as an industry leader in worksite health, the CDC awarded Viridian a national implementation contract in October 2011 to establish comprehensive worksite health programs based on Viridian's proven ability to deliver evidence-based programs that enhance employee health, reduce chronic disease and lower health-care costs. The National Healthy Worksite Program (NHWP) will focus on employer and employee outcomes in the areas of implementing evidence-based interventions, improving nutritional status, increasing physical activity and reducing tobacco use through individual health coaching, environmental supports and workplace policies. As the NHWP's implementation contractor, Viridian will provide operational management of the program, conduct individual and organizational assessments, provide implementation support and data collection, and provide training to program participants.
