Talk Fusion Founder & CEO Bob Reina Gives Back to Local Cat Lovers & Community

Leader of global video communication company featured on Bay News 9 after reuniting lost cat with family of disabled veteran; leads early charge to save feral cat population in Hillsborough County & beyond

2012-08-23
TAMPA, FL, August 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) Talk Fusion, a rapidly growing global video communication solution company, today announced that Founder & CEO Bob Reina is giving back ... again. Reina was recently featured in a local video news report for reuniting a lost cat with its family of a disabled veteran living near the Talk Fusion Corporate Headquarters and paying the medical bills for the cat's injuries, while, at the same time, also ramping up support for a local organization's effort to save the feral cat population throughout Hillsborough County, Florida.

"Our cause at Talk Fusion is 'speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves,'" said Reina, an ardent animal lover and a Board Member at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. "Our unbelievable global growth as a company offering video communication products has allowed us to give back at a number of levels throughout our community, and even around the world. This is an important part of the philanthropic passion we have for helping others and changing lives."

Monster the Cat
Bay News 9 video news reporter Josh Gauntt recently captured the reunion of Monster the cat with its owners in Brandon, Florida. His report was the first to tell this "good samaritan" story to television and web viewers alike.

Airing August 12, 2012, on Bay News 9, a local 24-hours news operation, and being posted on YouTube a few hours later, Gauntt's report chronicled Reina's encounter with Monster in June 2012 outside the Talk Fusion Corporate Headquarters. Noticing that Monster seemed injured, Reina immediately climbed down, rescued him from the drainage area where he was trapped, and took him to a vetinarian specialist. After weeks of expensive treatment, Monster was recently reunited with his owners, the Anderson family, who had desparately been searching for him, and nearly given up hope. When Reina discovered that Mr. Anderson was a disabled veteran, he personally paid Monster's $5,000 in medical bills for the family.

"Mr. Anderson has made a lot of sacrifices for our country," Reina said. "So it was my pleasure to help them in any way I could."

Tampa Bay area residents who saw or read the story on Bay News 9 responded directly to Talk Fusion with admiration and approval:
• Karen Blehm wrote: "I read about you and how you saved Monster. That's absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for being the caring person that you are!"
• Dan Shutte added: "What a great gesture, to help this woman and her cat. I applaud you."

Need Help to Save the Cats
As a strong supporter, contributor and leader of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Reina and Talk Fusion are now helping lead the charge to save the feral cat community in Hillsborough County.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has helped control the feral cat population by spaying and neutering more than 30,000 cats during the past five years with its Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return [TNVR] Program. But after years of the program making a difference in reducing the number of cats and kittens euthanized in the local community, there is a movement to ban TNVR throughout Hillsborough County.

To combat this proposal, the Humane Society and Cat Crusaders Tampa, with the support of Talk Fusion, are circulating a petition to maintain TNVR in Hillsborough County and beyond. You can find the "Save the Cats" petition, which currently has nearly 4,000 signatures, just 1,000 shy of its goal of 5,000, at http://tinyurl.com/SaveFeralCats.

"We are encouraging animal lovers to sign the petition and tell our local lawmakers that you support TNVR and to save the cats from being needlessly euthanized," Reina said. "Everyone can save lives and educate our community, no matter where you live."

In addition to Talk Fusion giving back to others and those who cannot speak for themselves, the global company offers cutting-edge video communication products that include Talk Fusion Video Email, Video Conferencing, Live Broadcasting, the Fusion On the Go mobile app, Video Share, E-Subscription Forms, Video Auto Responders, and the soon-to-be-released Talk Fusion Video Newsletters.
