WYOMING, MI, August 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) Metro Health Hospital announced today that it has hired Steve Polega to serve as director of emergency services.
Polega will be responsible for directing the operations of the Hospital's Emergency Department. In this new role, he is responsible for the operational, financial and clinical management of the ED. He will also be responsible for quality management, safety and staffing for the ED, which has one of the shortest patient wait times in West Michigan and very high patient satisfaction ratings.
Polega joins Metro Health Hospital with 16 years of experience in health services in roles such as registered nurse for Spectrum Health, Borgess Medical Center, Advantage Private Nursing Services and Bronson Staffing Service, and most recently 10 years as nurse manager for the Emergency and Trauma Center at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
Polega is a registered nurse and holds bachelor's degrees in health science from Grand Valley State University and in nursing from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mo. He also holds a master of health administration degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
