RALEIGH, NC, August 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Leadership Team of the Greater Raleigh National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) hit the ground running this year with monthly meetings and other functions intended to educate members, as well as expand their sphere of influence. One such event is Legislature Day, where members meet with their local legislative representatives.
Local NAWBO members represent a wide variety of professional backgrounds but have business ownership in common. With 41,568 women owned businesses in the Greater Raleigh Area, the club has an opportunity to be a great influence in the community.

NAWBO began in 1975 when a few Washington DC women business-owners joined resources in business-related matters. Today, it is a national organization with 62 chapters in over 30 states. The group aims to support women entrepreneurs thereby helping them meet economic, social and political goals.
Membership to the local chapter is advantageous for business owners not only for networking but meeting topics are informative and timely of interest to local business owners. This fall meeting speakers will be speaking on the local and national political climate as well as the importance of understanding the difference between a cycle and a trend. Meetings are on the fourth Wednesday at the Embassy Suites, RTP.
