Sassy Scrubs Outfits the Superhero of Science

Sassy Scrubs, a USA based medical uniform and nursing scrub manufacturer, teamed up with Dr. H20 from Kansas City for a fun project by providing him with a custom made lab coat fit for a superhero.

2012-08-30
PENN YANN, NY, August 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) Sassy Scrubs, a medical scrub uniform manufacturer located in Upstate New York, had the pleasure of making the perfect "water themed" Lab Coat for "Dr. H2O - the Superhero of Science". Kansas City based Superhero, Wilbur Dunnell, has been hard at work solving the problems of homeowners in his how-to show called "On Tap".

Produced for the Kansas City Water Services Department, the show features the good Doctor, with his team of half a dozen science students in their own lab coats, solving problems together through the use of science. Sassy Scrubs was proud to be included in this terrific program encouraging kids to use their science knowledge and helping residents in the Kansas City area.

According to KCCG-TV2, Superhero Dr. H2O is solving water problems in an educational children's segment on "On Tap." This is the new Water Services Department show where viewers can tune in and see Dr. H2O and his Super Science Team search for answers and provide information about topics like how to solve problems with storm water run-off, keeping the watershed clean, water purification techniques and mosquito abatement.

When Dr. H2O isn't solving these kinds of problems with the Super Science Team, he is Wilbur Dunnell, a lab supervisor in the Water Services Department. "The whole basis of Dr. H2O is what I do. I love science; I love working with children -- I have six of my own -- and I love drama production," Dunnell said.

A different comedic character, like a sea captain, gold miner, scout master or African explorer, will appear on each show and tell the Super Science Team what the character's problem is and the team will relay that information to Dr. H2O. "Dr. H2O and the Super Science Team are constantly awaiting the next call of distress so we can promptly spring into action and save the world through an understanding of science and technology, as they relate to the work done by the Water Services Department," the lab coat donned Dunnell said.

Frank Pogge states "So far, nearly a dozen children ages 6 to 11 have participated in the video shoots for the Dr. H2O segment of "On Tap." The first four episodes have been shot at Union Station." These are the office's original shows, which help keep Kansas City, Mo., residents informed about City programs, services and issues:

"Talk of the Town"
"Out to Play"
"On Tap"
"Ask Your Councilmember"
"City Works"
"Pet Connection."

Sassy Scrubs was thrilled to be able to provide a custom made lab coat for the "superhero". Owner, Karen Bradley states, "We support community based children's educational programming and the opportunity to help this endeavor by supplying one of our custom Lab Coats was too good to pass up. We applaud the Kansas City Water Services Department for this wonderful approach to children's science education, and thank them for the opportunity to be involved in this program".
