New Mortgage Scheme to be Launched in Scotland

A new mortgage scheme to enable first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder will be launched in Scotland in September.

2012-09-05
LONDON, ENGLAND, September 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) The introduction of 95% mortgages has been considered in Scotland and the MI New Home indemnity guarantee scheme will be offered jointly by the Government in Scotland and the Homes for Scotland organisation. The new homes scheme is expected to be launched this month and it is hoped that the new initiative will stimulate the economy with further building of new homes as well as the demand for new homes for sale across Scotland. The scheme is only available on new build homes.

The scheme will enable mortgage lenders, including banks and building societies, to offer buyers of new homes in Scotland a mortgage that is up to 95% of the total value of the property. First-time buyers who are unable to save up for a large deposit can pay a 5% deposit on the property they want to buy. Properties with a value of GBP250,000 will be eligible for the scheme. It is hoped that the scheme will make it more affordable to buy a home for approximately 6,000 house buyers over three years.

A number of buying schemes have already been offered by house builders in Scotland to help first-time buyers including a scheme where 85% mortgages are available and the 15% balance is payable through a loan that is not secured on the property. Other schemes include shared ownership schemes and part-rent, part-buy schemes that are offered by the public housing sector in Scotland.

Homes for Scotland is a membership organisation that represents the private house builder sector in Scotland. Their members include house building companies and associated companies who provide 95% of the new homes built in the private sector in Scotland.

Aztec Oil & Gas Responds to Natural Gas Controversy

2012-09-05
In recent months, the United States has experienced a historic boon in natural gas production, something that has yielded many positive economic effects. It has also won the full attention of the energy industry, and, while a major surge in natural gas production may seem, at first, to be an unequivocally positive development, some within the oil and gas world wonder if there may be some hidden strings attached. The Huffington Post recently ran an editorial that speculated as to whether natural gas is a "bridge or dead end." The editorial has prompted a comment ...

Slava Volman: Daycare is Expensive, But Well Worth The Price

2012-09-05
According to NBC News, rising daycare costs are making daily childcare more of an investment than a college education. Slava Volman, owner of Shooting Stars Daycare, believes that a great daycare experience is worth it, despite the costs. Says Volman, "Daycare is certainly an investment, and it's something parents should feel completely comfortable about. But if a family ...

The survey also reveals that many of these aspiring towers are largely unfamiliar with trailer use, including the proper safety precautions. The study ...

Dennis Bucko: Plastic Surgeon Underscores Health Issues Surrounding Breast Augmentation

2012-09-05
Breast augmentation procedures are often labeled "cosmetic," or even "elective" surgeries. While these designations may not be inaccurate, they do obscure some of the real medical and health issues that surround breast augmentation. As such, more and more cosmetic surgeons are encouraging women to consider the health issues that attend breast augmentation, both before and after the procedure--and Dennis Bucko, plastic surgeon from the San Diego area, is among them. Dennis Bucko has issued a new press statement, in which he affirms the recent emphasis ...

xG Technology Responds to Recent Spectrum Purchase Developments

2012-09-05
For wireless providers, spectrum is everything; it is the very thing that allows these companies to provide clients with services. As proof of just how vital spectrum space is to wireless companies, one needs to look no further than to Verizon's recent acquisition of 20MHz of wireless spectrum. Spectrum deals now are typically in the billion dollar range, and this purchase was no exception coming in around $3.5 billion, which required the approval of the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission. In the midst of such large spectrum acquisitions, many ...
