BURBANK, CA, September 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) Burbank based AlphaDogs Post Production is pleased to announce that they have once again partnered with Blank Paige Productions to provide post-production services for the new mun2 reality series Jenni Rivera presents: Chiquis n' Control. The new reality series is a spin off from the #1 Hispanic reality series I Love Jenni. Chiquis premiered on Saturday, July 28 on mun2 and follows the life of Jenni Rivera's eldest daughter Chiquis and her personal life and the launch of her new business-blow dry salon in Encino, California. AlphaDogs recently finished delivery of all 20 episodes on season one of I Love Jenni.
Finishing editor and colorist Sean Stack is using the Avid Symphony 6 to complete color grading for the series. Chiquis 'n Control is shot entirely on location in various types of environments including indoor and outdoor settings. This poses a problem where lighting is concerned with the variance in how images appear in natural lighting versus outdoor lighting. This problem can be fixed in the post process with the use of Avid Symphony's powerful color correction toolset. Corrections can be applied throughout a sequence using various relationships such as a clip source name or master clip name to apply the look desired and match lighting and color balance on multiple cuts at the same time. This assists in saving both time and money.
Some of the show footage also requires a second round of color correction to keep viewers focused on the action rather than the technical aspects of the picture itself. In order to overcome these obstacles specific areas within the picture must be isolated in order to correct the color. Stack explains, "I'm able to pull down the saturation of interior walls and other objects in the background that have the potential to distract from the main characters, while at the same time enhancing the skin tones on the face with nicely saturated color and contrast helping to make Chiquis and her friends look their very best."
The show is mastered at 1080Psf 23.98, but the network airs from a 29.97 NTSC Digibeta master. Deliverables are output to HDCAM and Digital Betacam including both texted and textless versions using Avid Symphony's Universal feature, which allows for frame rate conversion on output.
Chiquis 'n Control is Executive Produced by Jenni Rivera in association with her Jenni Rivera Enterprises, Pete Salgado for Jenni Rivera Enterprises, Shari Scorca for mun2, and Edward Paige and Liane Su for Blank Paige Productions.
