Authors Cindy Sample, Margie Yee Webb, and Jennifer Walker to Appear at Apple Hill's Art in the Orchard Event on September 8 & 9, 2012

Local authors Cindy Sample, Margie Yee Webb, and Jennifer Walker will be signing books at Apple Hill's annual Art in the Orchard event

2012-09-06
FOLSOM, CA, September 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) A trio of local authors will be appearing at Apple Hill's annual Art in the Orchard (Sep 8-9) event at Rainbow Orchards this year. The authors will be Cindy Sample, author of Dying for a Date and Dying for a Dance; Margie Yee Webb, author/photographer of Cat Mulan's Mindful Musings; and Jennifer Walker, author of The Riders of the Green Meadow series, including Bubba Goes National and Bubba to the Rescue.

DYING FOR A DATE and DYING FOR A DANCE are Cindy Sample's witty, romantic, and exciting mysteries. These are classic mysteries with a funny and romantic twist. The series begins with Dying for a Date, in which main character Laurel McKay has devastatingly bad luck on the dating scene. The second book, Dying for a Dance, won the 2012 Northern California Publishers and Authors Association award for best fiction and it is a finalist for the 2012 Lefty Award for Best Humorous Mystery. RT Book Reviews describes Sample's sleuth as "an endearing character readers will adore."

CAT MULAN'S MINDFUL MUSINGS: INSIGHT AND INSPIRATION FOR A WONDERFUL LIFE is Margie Yee Webb's philosophical, witty and wise book of observations through the eyes of her titular kitty character. The book is full of photos, philosophy, and catlike wisdom aimed at finding delight and balance in life. Though an obvious choice for cat lovers, this book transcends that audience—readers who love to gain smart insights will love this charming and beautifully presented book. Cat Mulan's Mindful Musings won the 2012 Northern California Publishers and Authors Association award for best nonfiction, gift category; and awarded Certificates of Excellence for "Gift" and "Color Photographs, series" in the Cat Writers' Association 2011 Communications Contest.

Jennifer Walker's Green Meadow Series begins with Bubba Goes National, about thirteen-year-old Leslie Clark, who finds an Arabian gelding at a livestock auction. Together, they work their way to the Arabian horse Youth National Championships. Bubba To The Rescue continues Leslie's adventures when she and her boyfriend, Alex, encounter a strange horse wandering through the woods by itself, and it follows them home. Leslie soon becomes attached to "Spark" when she can't find his owner...but will she get to keep him, or will someone come forward to claim the horse she has come to love?

The authors will appear at Arts in the Orchard from 10:00AM to 5:00PM each day. Entrance to the event is free, and visitors are encouraged to stop by and talked to the authors, ask questions, and purchase signed copies of the books.

Enjoy all that Apple Hill has to offer ... plus incredible art, jewelry and music at ranches, farms and vineyards throughout the area. It's a synergistic blending of Art and Agriculture. Admission is FREE at all venues - a gift to the community jointly presented by El Dorado Arts Council, Apple Hill Growers' Association and Rainbow Orchards.
