MPP Rod Jackson Tours Local Barrie Paper Shredding Business

Shred North is attempting to increase public awareness of the liability and safety benefits of implementing a paper shredding policy. MPP Rod Jackson toured the facility to familiarize himself to the business.

2012-09-07
BARRIE, ON, September 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) Rod Jackson, Member of Provincial Parliament for Barrie recently toured local paper shredding company, Shred North in an effort to determine the requirements for business growth in the community.

With identity theft on the rise by as much as 250% in some areas of North America, having a local company offering document destruction is more important than ever. The key to growth and success is going to be public awareness.

"Through public awareness, including guidelines and legislation, we can help educate the general population as to the importance of shredding and document management", states Daryl Woytowicz, General Manager of Shred North. "With assistance from government, we can help combat identity theft in our community".

Having a high profile politician tour the facility and witness firsthand the level of security and service provided, the hope is that government will assist in educating the public in regard to the importance of utilizing a paper shredding company to reduce liability and increase security. Furthermore, business growth in Barrie will be achieved with an increased need for this service.

"Great to see such an innovative and entrepreneurial business right here in Barrie. Small businesses play a vital role in getting our province's economy back on track and companies like Shred North show a strength in Barrie's business community", stated Rod Jackson, MPP for Barrie.

Increased awareness of the importance of a local document destruction service will better serve the community, both in regard to security and job creation.
