RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, September 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences (http://www.thehamner.org) has announced that Dr. William Greenlee has been reappointed as president and CEO of the nonprofit research organization for a five-year term. Greenlee is the visionary leader behind the re-positioning of The Hamner as a multi-disciplinary, integrated, translational research center that features globally recognized platforms in chemical and drug safety. He has led The Hamner and its predecessor, CIIT, as president and CEO since 1999.
Under Greenlee's guidance, The Hamner has fostered and expanded public-private partnerships, highlighted by a joint institute for drug safety sciences with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earlier this year the announcement of the Research Triangle Park Collaboration Consortium with Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. The Hamner is committed to bringing together North Carolina's leading research institutions in transformative partnerships that will strengthen the Research Triangle Park as a world-leading center for life sciences innovation and technology development.
QUOTES:

"The accomplishments The Hamner already has achieved are impressive, and we have great potential to add to that legacy. With the drive and determination of Dr. Greenlee and other leaders, I am sure we can accomplish this mission."
"I am honored to receive the support of The Hamner board for another term," said Greenlee. "This vote of confidence will ensure that our road map for The Hamner remains firmly on a path toward becoming a global leader in translational life sciences research, innovation and training."
