Pickle Power to the People includes anything edible featuring pickles - main dishes, snacks, desserts and beverages.According to Pickle Packers International, the trade organization for the pickled vegetable industry, American households purchase pickles every 53 days, over 67 percent of all households eat pickles and Americans consume more than 9 pounds of pickles per person annually, and don't forget the pickle that amassed over a million fans on Facebook earlier this year!
"There are no wishy-washy pickle fans, they are a passionate people," say third generation pickling cousins, Nick Horman and Ron Horman, Jr. The two preside over a pickle empire consisting of Horman's Best, a line for farmers' markets and their new retail jarred line, New York Deli Pickle. The site is accepting recipes until the end of the year.
