MANILA, PHILIPPINES, September 10, 2012 (Press-News.org) Acer Philippines and ShadowProtect software, through IT distribution company IPSYSTEMS Inc, have partnered together in providing real time data recovery for Philippine local companies and SMEs.

The aim of the partnership is to provide a complete and integrated business solution to maximize business continuity and avoid business disruption following a server or PC failure.
"What happens when a company loses its data? Simply put, production stops and a company can lose hundreds of thousands to millions of pesos worth of business," said Patricia B. Celis, Business Development Manager of IPSYSTEMS Inc. "Our goal is to protect companies from ever having such losses with ShadowProtect backup and recovery software. Through its VirtualBoot feature, ShadowProtect is able to recover a crashed server or PC within 3 to 5 minutes, whether we're talking about a 300GB laptop or a 10TB corporate server."

ShadowProtect is a backup and recovery solution manufactured by the American company StorageCraft, with its Asia Pacific (APAC) office located in Sydney, Australia. The product's unique VirtualBoot technology allows for quick failover to a virtual server for an almost instant recovery, regardless of server hard disk size.

Starting August 20, 2012, selected Acer Veriton Commercial Desktops, Acer TravelMate Notebooks and all models of Acer Server will have ShadowProtect trial CDs bundled upon purchase. Customers can install and try the software for themselves for 30 days.

"As an Acer Industry Partner, we are confident that we will be able to reach out to the millions of Acer customers and add value to their businesses on top of the benefits they are already enjoying from their Acer servers, desktops and laptops," added Ms. Celis.

According to Manuel Wong, general manager at Acer Philippines, Inc., the company needed a radical technology that will supplement Acer Commercial products in providing quality solutions to businesses.

"We needed the presence of ShadowProtect in our commercial products to provide a higher level of business solutions in terms of real time data recovery, which is very relevant especially in high-performance computing environment. It will now be easier to manage important data securely and effectively through ShadowProtect technology." said Mr. Wong.

"We believe that our partnership with ShadowProtect through IPSYSTEMS will help us retain our market leadership in terms of delivering reliable solutions to corporate end-users." added Mr. Wong.
