SANTA ANA, CA, October 07, 2010 (Press-News.org) Motif Architectural Lighting (Motif), a leading provider of LED-based architectural illumination products, today announced the launch of its Remote Modular Power Supply (RMPS). Representing a new approach to power for graphic illuminators, the RMPS provides low voltage, Class II DC power from modules encased in a sturdy extruded aluminum housing that is easy to install and available with dimming control.
The RMPS, combined with Motif's recently announced lines of specialized LED graphic illuminators, light boxes and decorative down lights, represents a complete, low voltage LED illumination solution for the retail, hospitality, exhibition, commercial lighting and other industries.
Motif's RMPS is a unique, Class II, 24 Volt DC power source that is inherently safe. It can be easily placed up to 100 feet away from the housing of an LED graphic illuminator or LED fixture using small, 20 gauge, plenum rated, two-conductor wire. This low voltage wiring solution does not require metal conduit, reducing installation costs. Power modules are easy to replace and do not require an electrician. The RMPS is available in two sizes, one that accommodates up to four modules and one that accommodates up to eight modules.
Designed for precision dimming of LEDs, the RMPS uses pulse width modulation dimming circuitry with 0-10 Volt control signals. Pulse-width modulation utilizes a rectangular pulse wave that essentially turns the LEDs on and off for imperceptibly short periods of time, maximizing energy efficiency and power savings.
The RMPS is the perfect power source to drive the innovative LED-Array from ION Light Engines featured in all of Motif's lighting products. By combining the energy savings and longevity of the ION LED-Array with the cost savings and simple installation of the RMPS, Motif simplifies power source issues for many applications.
All Motif products are manufactured from environmentally-friendly, powder coated aluminum extrusions that are simple to install and attractive. Motif's new line of LED illumination products delivers style, durability and high performance, while also helping to reduce the associated Carbon Footprint.
Motif Architectural Lighting (Motif) is a leading provider of specialized LED-based architectural illumination products. All Motif products feature an innovative LED-Array light source from ION Light Engines that utilizes low voltage, Class II power. Motif's products are fully recyclable, UL, CUL, and CE-listed, meet RoHS specifications and contribute points to LEED certified buildings, while also qualifying for commercial tax rebates. Motif's products represent the next-generation of energy-efficient and sustainable illuminators that help "Go Green." http://www.motiflighting.com
