Atlanta Movers A.C. White Relocations Applaud New Law Protecting Consumers Against Rogue Movers Holding Items Hostage
2012-09-17
NORCROSS, GA, September 17, 2012 (Press-News.org) Atlanta moving company A.C. White Relocations is pleased that a law has been signed which increases the power the US Transportation Department has to order rogue moving companies to return illegally held property.

Starting in October, the Transportation Department will have more authority to protect consumers against rogue moving companies who lure potential victims with unrealistic low prices, phony websites and false credentials and then hold their goods hostage unless victims pay extra at the time of delivery.

Currently, the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration has six investigators to oversee 4,400 moving companies, thousands of complaints and more than 2 million interstate moves a year. This new law will help to ensure that these investigators will have the power to help victims reclaim their property that is being held hostage.

For a number of years the moving industry, led by United and Mayflower Van Lines, have had a very successful program, Move Rescue, available to those who are victims of rogue moving companies. Move Rescue helps to quickly obtain the release and delivery of these belongings to make the victims whole.

In October of 2014, new movers will have to pass tests on consumer protection and estimating. Of course, only legitimate operators will follow the rules, and those who intend to circumvent the system will do so as often as the opportunity presents itself. The Atlanta movers at A.C. White Relocations encourage consumers to remember that this law will not prevent fraudulent movers from existing, so it is important to thoroughly research any company before choosing to move with them.

Even though Move Rescue has been very successful, nothing beats making sure you select a licensed reliable moving company in the first place. The usual precautions apply, like checking with State and Federal Licensing Agencies. If you are looking for a reliable moving company, one of the very best, most reliable ways to find a legitimate company is through a referral.

For over 86 years, A.C. White Relocations has offered those moving in Atlanta, Macon, and Savannah, GA, the superior moving services they deserve. Their dedication to customer satisfaction has earned them the loyalty of generations of Georgia clients. With an established record of excellence, A.C. White Relocations makes your Atlanta move easy and hassle free, the way it should be.

What can we learn from sending codependent bacteria and plants into space? Quite a bit, it would appear. An experiment with the tongue-twisting name Symbiotic Nodulation in a Reduced Gravity Environment, or SyNRGE for short, could yield benefits on Earth as well as space. "We live in a world of microorganisms. Bacteria, archaea, viruses, and fungi are intimately associated with all life on Earth and travel with us as we explore space.
