BOSTON, MA, September 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Greater Boston Beverage Society has opened ticket sales for the First Annual Boston Cocktail Summit, to be held October 4-6, 2012.

The three-day celebration of Greater Boston's cocktail culture is the first-ever city-wide cocktail event and is designed for industry professionals and consumers alike. Parties, trade exhibits, and seminars will highlight the city's fascinating history of mixology and will spotlight New England's breweries, wineries, and distilleries.

The Boston Cocktail Summit will be open to the public and will allow local enthusiasts to celebrate, commiserate, learn about, and enjoy great cocktails both classic and contemporary. Mixology superstars like James Beard Award winner Dale "King Cocktail" DeGroff and Tony Abou-Ganim, inventor of the Cable Car Cocktail, will dazzle with creative and classic cocktails. Celebrated Boston chefs will prepare delicious cocktail dinners, and local and international spirits authorities like Godfather of the Boston cocktail scene, Brother Cleve, "Wine Geek" Steve Olson, author Doug Frost, and Dushan Zaric, co-owner of New York City's Employees Only and Macao Trading Co. will offer informative and educational seminars.

On the Town with Dale DeGroff -- Award-winning mixologist and author, Dale DeGroff, presents an evening of stories, cocktails and songs from legendary watering holes and his forty years of working and carousing them.

It's A Roast! of Gaz Regan -- The first of its kind event in the world of cocktails, enjoy a fun filled cocktail party at The Royal Sonesta Hotel Skyline Room full of revelry and more! Six of Gaz Regan's peers have at him in a fun and funny roast in the classic Friar's Club style. Hosted by Steve Olsen, you'll hear the escapades of Gaz from insiders of the Bartending World.

Mr. Boston 75th Anniversary Celebration -- The "Mr. Boston" name is known not only for its brands of distilled spirits, but also for its unique reference book, Old Mr. Boston Official Bartender's Guide. The Guide was first published 1935 and is celebrating its 75th printing in 2012! Hosted by Anniversary Edition Editor Jonathan Pogash, you will enjoy eight of the newest cocktails to be added to the book.
