LANCASHIRE, ENGLAND, September 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Metals coating and thermal processing specialist Wallwork Heat Treatment has promoted Howard Maher to sales manager and has appointed Ian Lacey as southern England business development manager for aerospace and non-ferrous. Howard is responsible for high value aerospace and commercial customers and for the sales team including their motivation and management. In the south of the UK, Ian will be servicing clients in the aerospace and non-ferrous sectors.
Howard has a deep appreciation of every aspect of the industry, having spent most of the last 20 years with Wallwork, including factory floor operations, laboratory and quality control. He became a sales engineer on re-joining the company in 2004 after a short time in the motor industry.
A Fellow of the Institute of Cast Metal Engineers and a trained metallurgist, Ian has spent all his career in the heat treatment business and also holds an MBA. He comes to Wallwork at a time of expansion and investment when his experience in both ferrous and non-ferrous processing will be invaluable.
Wallwork's first non-ferrous heat treatment furnace is soon to enter service at Bury where the company will also be commissioning of a new 1.5 tonne vacuum furnace. At the Birmingham plant in Smallheath, a four tonne, vacuum thermal processing unit is due for installation later in the year.
Sales director Simeon Collins commented, "As a business with aerospace approvals from prime manufacturers and major sub-contractors we work at the specialist end of the market where quality, compliance and service are demanded.
