Local Sam's Club Hosts Houston Cougar and NBA Hall of Famer Elvin Hayes

Basketball legend to sign free autographs on Sept. 27 at the new Sam's Club - Pearland

SMYNRA, GA, September 26, 2012 (Press-News.org) Sam's Club and General Mills have announced that they will host a Member Appreciation event at the new Sam's Club - Pearland on Thursday, Sept 27, from 6-8 p.m. As part of the day's celebration, University of Houston Cougar and Houston Rockets' Legend Elvin Hayes will meet with fans and sign free autographs.

The associates at the Sam's Club - Pearland look forward to serving the community with top of the line service all year long and are excited to hosting Hayes at 15800 S. Freeway in Pearland.

As The Sporting News College Basketball Player of the Year in 1967, Hayes was the first selection of the 1968 NBA Draft by the San Diego Rockets. The "Big E" average 21 points per game over his illustrious 16-year career, including a stint with the Houston Rockets. Hayes was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990 and named one of the NBA's 50 greatest players in 1996.
