Seinfeld's Famed "Soup Nazi" Helps Celebrate Grand Re-Opening of Zoup! Southfield Restaurant

Get in line, have your money ready and move to your extreme left -- "Seinfeld's" famed "Soup Nazi" who single-handedly put soup back on the culinary map, will be making a special appearance at Zoup! in Southfield, Mich.

SOUTHFIELD, MI, October 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) Get in line, have your money ready and move to your extreme left -- "Seinfeld's" famed "Soup Nazi" who single-handedly put soup back on the culinary map, will be making a special appearance at Zoup! in Southfield, Mich.

On October 9, 2010 actor, Larry Thomas, who was immortalized for his bellowing of, "No soup for you", as the "Soup Nazi" in the classic 1995 "Seinfeld" episode, will be filming segments for a viral marketing campaign for Zoup! at the Southfield restaurant.

Located at 29177 Northwestern Hwy, the restaurant which originally opened in 1998 was recently updated with a redesigned store layout featuring new interior design elements - including new decor, equipment and digital menu boards - the 2,400 square-foot, company-owned restaurant will continue to feed the local appetite with its hundreds of award-winning soups.

"We have learned a lot over the past twelve years and are extremely excited about reopening the restaurant with our brand new look," said Eric Ersher, Founder and Managing Partner of Zoup!, noting that the Northwestern location is home to the concept's first ever restaurant. "In honor of our 12 year anniversary and new store design, we are excited to have the unique opportunity to work on a viral marketing campaign with a sought-after TV icon that solely became the symbol for the power of soup".

Zoup! features hundreds of award-winning soups with 12 rotating daily varieties, including at least one low-fat, vegetarian, dairy-free and spicy option. Using nothing but the finest and natural ingredients and no MSG, Zoup! will continue to serve its soups in three sizes - side, cup and bowl - with prices ranging from $3.95 to $6.95. Each order is served with a hunk of fresh baked bread.

The Northwestern location will be open Monday -Saturday, 11a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. - 5p.m.

"In good times and bad, soup carries powerful and intangible qualities that provide comfort and promote a genuine sense of well-being for many people," Ersher added. "We've taken soup to the next level by giving consumers one-of-a-kind soup creations they love, but wouldn't make at home."

In addition to its unique and diverse menu, Zoup! prides itself in the way the company treats customers and franchise owners, unlike the "Soup Nazi" who denied service to customers who did not follow his strict "rules" for ordering. Every detail from the food to the physical restaurant has a specific feel, language and experience that is the result of what they call Zoup!isms, a set of guiding principles that form the basis of Zoup!'s operating philosophy.

About Zoup!
Founded in 1998, Zoup! is the leading fast-casual soup concept restaurant that is defining the category with its premium and proprietary soups and other recipes. A dining experience that features 12 always-rotating soup varieties each day in an environment that focuses on comfort, satisfaction and convenience, Zoup! has grown its network of franchises to 25 restaurants throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut.
