WASHINGTON, DC, September 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) Specialty Hospital of Washington's Hadley Campus (SHW) has entered into a partnership with Cogent HMG, one of the nation's leading hospital physician services organizations. They presently partner with over 120 hospitals across the country to help build and manage high-performing hospitals. Cogent HMG leads hospitals in focusing on relentlessly improving efficiency and quality of patient care.
To help lead this new program, SHW welcomes Dr. Milad Pooran as the Program Medial Director. Dr. Pooran is a 2000 graduate of the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine, and holds a Bachelors degree with Honors in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland College Park. A board-certified physician in Critical Care Medicine and member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Aerospace Medical Association, Society of United States Air Force Flight Surgeons and an Associate of the American College of Physicians. He completed his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland in 2008. Dr. Pooran is a highly decorated Lieutenant Colonel, Senior Flight Surgeon with the United States Air Force, Air National Guard District of Columbia. Some of his many tours include Operation Enduring Freedom as a Team leader of the Critical Care Air Transport team, Chief of Aero Medical Services, Interim State Air Surgeon, Flight Surgeon during Operation Coronet and Operation Southern Watch along with serving as a Combat Intensivists during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
