Lunascape Browser iPad Version "iLunascape" Released
Innovative User Interface Developed Specifically for iPad, Shifts Many Actions to Bottom of Screen
SUNNYVALE, CA, August 20, 2010
Lunascape, the triple engine browser, is releasing today its "iLunascape" version developed specifically for Apple's iPad. The user interface (UI) is arranged differently from the desktop computer version, clustering most common movements and tabs down near the bottom where the user holds the device. Lunascape calls this specialized UI its "In Reach Interface," and many other major features focus on the iPad usage experience including desktop-class tab browsing, easy screen capture and storage, fast and smooth scrolling, simple bookmarking, and rotation lock."We wanted to develop a browser specifically for the iPad, not just quickly port over a dumned down version. The iPad is unique, very portable and easy to use, yet large and powerful enough for many professionals to get most of their work done. It's the perfect middle ground," said Yuki Sekiguchi, COO of Lunascape. "To take full advantage of the iPad, the browser should be different, but still powerful. So we decided to offer real desktop-class tab browsing, no compromises, with a very easy and intuitive interface. You can't get this with other free browsers on the iPad currently."
Lunascape is used worldwide with over 15 million downloads. The browser was ranked in the top 10 in a BBC worldwide market share report this year and will be one of 12 included in the Browser Choice Screen in Europe as a result of the recent European Commission agreement with Microsoft on fair competition. The Japanese version of iLunascape, released last month in Japan, surged to the #1 Free Application category within 24 hours of its release.
iLunascape is available immediately for free download. Please see the iLunascape Product Page at http://www.lunascape.tv/iLunascape/tabid/123/Default.aspx
