Kuksina, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Kean University and a Master's Degree in Psychology from Columbia University, began working for her colleges' academic learning center in 2005. In her role, Kuksina tutors undergraduates in both psychology and sociology, coordinates and supervises small study groups and one-on-one tutoring sessions that focus on course material and its understanding, grades homework assignments, communicates with students to develop an educational oriented community, encourages them to think and brainstorm, organizes materials and resources, and designs study sheets, outlines, and tips to help her students.

Impacted greatly by her students' successes is what inspires Kuksina to engage, instruct, and inspire more and more students that believe in the value of higher education.

Kuksina is currently a certified master tutor, advanced tutor, and regular tutor, all through College Reading and Learning Association. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and a strong supporter of the American Cancer Society.
