GAUTENG, SOUTH AFRICA, October 03, 2012 (Press-News.org) She has graced South African and international screens with many commercials over the years and most noticeably caused havoc playing Pam on Isidingo (Highest rated South African daily), as the sex tape extortionist who attempted to blackmail Ace. "It was the first audition I ever had and was convinced my agent was talking rubbish when he said I got the part". But perhaps she is most recognizable from her supporting role on MNETs first season of The Wild, a massive initiative shot entirely on HD, daily in the middle of the South African bush. She left the show to take up a full sponsorship at the New York Film Academy in 2011. The corporate entrepreneur who turned full time actress and model 3 years ago has hung up her power suit and is now spreading her wings in the City of Angels.
"I had no intention of moving to LA but am grateful to God that the road led me here as I have some exciting projects in the pipe line. I am working with an American Polish producer on the most moving story and ironically my farther has a Polish heritage hence my surname."
You could refer to Sarah as a citizen of the world, having worked in her corporate and model capacity, in Morocco, London, Milan, Sardinia, Mumbai, Seychelles, New York, Thailand, Monaco, Sardinia, Dubai and Mauritious to name a few. She drives a French car, wears Italian shoes and listens to good old South African house music! As such, settling into LA's city style has been an easy ride.
Having had the opportunity to work with HBO and Universal back in South Africa Sarah always hoped to come and play with the big boys. "LA is the most inspiring place and I am so happy to be surrounded by so many industry folk. Everywhere you go and everyone you meet is a director, producer, actor or writer. That said, one still has to keep their head on their shoulders or else this town is guaranteed to eat you alive." In true eclectic LA style, she lives above a blind artisan chocolatier and smells fresh chocolate setting every morning, and across the street there is a hotel for dogs!
Never having had much of a problem with nudity before, in her international career aspirations however, she has taken a decision against appearing naked for a role. This may be career limiting but as Sarah believes, "You don't have to be naked to be sexy". With the world of entertainment taking a more risque approach and using shock value to entertain and retain attention, Sarah however is interested in the good old fashioned, powerful stories, beautifully written and tastefully done.
Acclaimed commercials director Bevan Cullinan, AKA Gary the Tooth Fairy cast Sarah as an eccentric hippie in one of his commercials and says that when she walked into the audition I thought: "Here we go another model trying to be an actor, but when she turned on the character I remember laughing out loud! Comic timing isn't easy and you gotta have balls!"
Sarah is known in the SA industry as the gal with looks and guts. "I don't need to look pretty to act my guts out. I am all about the role and the craft and have always been inspired by Charlize Theron's move to put on weight and wear awful prosthetic teeth to look the part of a monster."
Her corporate background and education certainly gives her the industry sass needed to carve a career in the tough LA scene. Add to that a dose of incredible talent and exceptional beauty, we are certain Sarah Kozlowski is destined to make South Africa proud.
