Mims Distributing Company Sponsors 24th Annual Walk For Hope Oct. 14

Local Beer Distributor Supports Event That Raises Money And Community Awareness For The Research And Treatment Of Mental Illness

RALEIGH, NC, October 03, 2012 (Press-News.org) Mims Distributing Company (http://www.mimsdist.com), a beer distributor that services a nine-county area in and around the Triangle, has announced that it will serve as a Gold Hope Sponsor for the 24th annual Thad and Alice Eure Walk for Hope to be held Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Angus Barn on U.S. Highway 70. The event, which includes a 5K and 10K run that starts at 8 a.m. and a walk that starts at 10 a.m., raises money and community awareness for the research and treatment of mental illness being overseen by the Foundation of Hope. The Foundation of Hope provides financial support for ongoing and new research, treatment, and the development of researchers at Dorothea Dix Hospital, the University of North Carolina and its affiliated psychiatric institutions, and local mental health agencies. Mims Distributing Company was one of the original sponsors of the Walk of Hope in 1988.
