After a successful summer camp, award-winning actress Nikki Young is returning to The Rose Theatre Company to help teach actors the skills they need in the fast-paced entertainment industry.

Young's latest workshop, Act Fast!, will take place at the theatre company on Saturday, October 13. The one-day event - for kids (age 10 and up), teens, and adults - is designed to teach actors the skills they need to make their best impression in auditions for film, television, and commercials. Topics include:

* Cold Reading Skills
* Slating, Interviewing, and Auditioning
* Building An Online Video Presence
* Success In Social Media
* And more...

As Young explains, "The industry is moving faster than ever now. Whether you're auditioning for film, commercials, or reality TV, you only have a few moments to present yourself. And with YouTube and social media, the pressure is on to make an instant impression, even before you walk into the audition. This workshop will help actors learn what they need to know to walk through that door and grab the talent buyer's attention, to make sure they're remembered now and on future projects."

In that spirit, the workshop is designed to duplicate an actual audition experience. "For an example, if you have headshots and resumes already," Young says, "you can bring them to class and submit them to the talent buyers (us), and if you don't, we'll show you how to make them part of your materials, and how to make them work for you."

Jessie Rose, Owner of The Rose Theatre Co., says,"Nikki did a wonderful job teaching our summer camp, and we received a great response from kids and parents, so we're thrilled to be working with her again. And now, we're especially excited to be able to offer her class to adults - this workshop promises to be another great learning experience for everyone."

Young adds, "Since that summer camp, I've had so many adult actors asking me if I'm planning to lead a workshop for adults, so I'm very happy that they'll be able to share in the fun with Act Fast!. And I'm also happy to continue working with Jessie and The Rose Theatre Co. - it has been a great experience for me, and I'm looking forward to sharing that with our students!"
