The Pittsboro Roadhouse & General Store: Live Music Venue and Restaurant in Downtown Pittsboro, North Carolina Draws Musical Talent

The Pittsboro Roadhouse & General Store re-opened the restaurant, bar and music space at 39 West Street in downtown Pittsboro and has been drawing a rich variety of musicians to its stage on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

RALEIGH, NC, October 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Pittsboro Roadhouse & General Store opened for business on August 17, 2012 in the space at 39 West Street formerly known as the General Store Cafe.

Owner, Executive Chef Greg Lewis of Raleigh's Catering by Design catering company, with his family, completed a substantial renovation of the spacious interior and the exterior, including new flooring, a new sound system, tinted windows and a sparkling back-lit skyline of Pittsboro visible from the front.

The restaurant and live music venue includes a front dining room with floor to ceiling windows; a general store with original artwork, pottery, aprons, and flavored oils, sugars and salts; a contemporary lounge with bright modern sofas and chairs, and a view of the performance stage; and the rear dining room which includes booths, tables, the bar and the performance stage.

Live music is central to the Pittsboro Roadhouse & General Store's vision. Noted North Carolina musician Tommy Edwards played at the Open House during the Grand Opening, and that evening, the popular rock band, ZamBamBooGee played to a full house and dancing guests.

"We love music ourselves, and we always enjoyed the music at the General Store Cafe, so we knew we wanted to bring that back to downtown Pittsboro," said Owner, Greg Lewis. "Music helps us celebrate what's good about life."

Music covers a range of genres including Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz,. Rock, Folk, Reggae and an eclectic fusion. Musicians play both cover songs and originals.

Thursday night music is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Friday and Saturday night music is between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
