SIMI VALLEY, CA, October 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) For many people, the word "Subzero" brings to mind high school chemistry horror stories, Mortal Kombat and penguins. For the less imaginative, a vague reference to an extreme lack of heat. This October 20th, Brad Lord, Gabe Ramsey and Don Wirth aim to correct that innocent, but ultimately misguided word association with the opening of Sub Zero Ice Cream & Yogurt in the Expo on Center (4065 Clark Rd, Sarasota, FL).
But what IS Sub Zero?!
If ever you've jumped a unicorn over the rainbow after a storm, it is fathomable that you've a semblance of the joy, adventure, comfort, child-like wonder, thrill, magic, excitement, novelty and tastebud massaging effect of the Sub Zero experience.
Imagine walking into the coolest place ever (This is open to interpretation for now, but it's Sub Zero. Oct 20th. Be there). What's that soothing, shimmery light encompassing your very being? It's the radiant glow of a sea of satisfied customers. Glowing? That seems excessive, but let's investigate further. A light, mystifying fog falls from the counter. What is this sorcery? You must know. Sashay through that fog and up to the most vibrant employee you've ever met. Anywhere. Their genuine glee catches you off guard, but you gather yourself and demand answers. Why are these people so radiant?! What is this fog and why is it so awesome?! The beaming employee hands you a menu. Its contents: Your hopes and dreams. They've taken the form of ice cream, yogurt, toppings, self-satisfaction, unparalleled in selection and variety.
"But the fog!", your mind cries out in joyous confusion. Our hero, the employee and your new best friend, senses the meaning behind the awkward expression on your face and nods to an empty bowl. Several unidentified, but assuredly magnificent liquids are combined in the sacred basin and then held beneath what must surely be a magic wand. Within moments, the frothy fog appears. Up and over the sides it goes, encircling you in its gaseous embrace. All too soon, the fog dissipates, time moves forward, and a mound of dairy (or non!) perfection awaits you inside the bowl. Now add anything. Or everything. You are radiant. You are beautiful. Have some ice cream.
In considerably less magical terms: Ice cream is blasted with liquid nitrogen and frozen almost instantly, resulting in the creamiest, dreamiest thing your mouth has/will ever lay taste bud on.

Meet Brad, Gabe and Don. Nurse anesthetists and overall swell guys by day, entrepreneurial masterminds by...day also, but probably night as well.
