TUSTIN, CA, October 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) Links Players International (Links), a Christian golf ministry and a collection of local fellowships for golfers, today announced that its 3rd annual Charity Classic Golf Tournament raised more than $52,000 to support those who have little or no access to healthcare. Event proceeds will go directly to Links Players International and St. Joseph Hospital's community clinics, providers of comprehensive acute and chronic care for persons of all ages among Orange County's most vulnerable population.
"We are honored to host this annual event to bring hope and support to children and families without access to healthcare in Orange County" said Links Players International President Jeffrey Cranford. "Enjoying fellowship and a game of golf is a great way to support such a worthy cause in our community."
The community clinics of St. Joseph Hospital consists of La Amistad de Jose Family Health Center and Puente a La Salud mobile community clinics that serve economically disadvantaged individuals and their families who have little or no access to healthcare, as well as those uninsured and underinsured.
"We are thankful for Links Players International's generous donations that enable us to provide care to families unable to obtain health services," said Linda Simon, vice president of Mission Integration. "Without these types of contributions from the local community, we would not be able to support our patients who fall at or below the federal poverty guidelines."
