Confidex RFID Tag Family Expands Applications for IT & Enterprise Asset Tracking

The offering includes the next generation of the Confidex Steelwave Micro RFID tag for source tagging and retrofit asset tracking applications. The new Steelwave Micro II is available in a wide variety of custom configurations so that it can be incorporated into almost any IT or non-IT high-value asset, and is now available in a Near Field Communication (NFC) version for asset management using mobile devices. The Confidex IT & Enterprise Asset tag portfolio is complemented by the industry's most versatile personalizing and encoding offering, available with all Confidex products.

Asset management often requires strict policies, disciplined operations and labor intensive inventory audits. RFID is helping many leading enterprises to streamline and even automate their daily asset management operations. In addition to tracking IT assets such as servers, computers or high-value prototypes, enterprises have expanded their RFID asset management systems to cover other, non-IT assets as well, such as high-value medical devices, lab equipment, manufacturing assets, and other equipment.

Not only does the Confidex Steelwave Micro II set a new benchmark for UHF RFID performance to meet the needs of a variety of IT & Enterprise asset tracking applications, but it also enables Near Field Communication (NFC) asset identification using mobile, NFC-enabled devices. With this capability, customers can utilize mobile devices to scan tags and remotely access information related to the asset in the field.
