SALT LAKE CITY, UT, October 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) The new website is "cleaner, brighter and easier to navigate than ever." Besides the company's complete catalog of products, the site also features access to hundreds of articles from their health newsletter, The Journal for Healthy Living. Access to the library of articles is free.
"We've tried to make everything on the site more user-friendly," a company spokesperson explained. "We looked at how we could improve every page and every function."
According to the spokesperson, this meant rebuilding the website from the ground up. "We were especially concerned about our more mature users," he said. "Websites are often designed with their youngest users in mind. We want to make using our site easy for everyone."
Among the improvements is front-page access to the company's extensive archive of newsletter articles. The articles - which are free to all visitors - include information on a wide variety of health topics, vitamins and herbs.
To improve the site's readability - an important consideration for mature audiences - the company now uses a brighter background for increased contrast. "All our product pages now feature a bright white background," the spokesperson said. "This makes the type jump out. It's much easier to read."
Another issue the new site addresses is making contact. "Many companies selling nutritional supplements make it easy to order," the spokesperson explained. "But if you have a question or a problem, it's hard to track them down."
"We've put a toll-free number and our e-mail address at the top of every page," he continued. "Plus, there's a 'Contact' link in our menu bar. Click on it, and you'll also get an address where you can write. We want to make sure our customers can get in touch with us when they need to."
Other site improvements include simplified menus to make navigation easier and a "Home" button near the top of every page. No matter where you go on the site, you can return to the home page with one easy click.
A simple tab system also allows readers to see product ingredients with a single click. "We wanted to provide more information with less effort for our site's visitors," the spokesperson said. "With tabs, you can get lots of information without having to move from page to page. Plus, you'll now be able read product reviews. This is a great new feature our old website didn't support."
The spokesperson also emphasized that the site still has all the features of the old site... but updated and improved. "It's just easier to use," he said. "A more pleasant experience for our visitors."
