Smashburger Sets its Sights on Orange County

Fast Casual Restaurant Serving Up "Better Burgers" to Open at Least 20 Locations in the County Over Next Five Years; Two Locations to Open Before Year End

2012-10-18
CARLSBAD, CA, October 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) Smashburger, the nation's fastest growing "better burger" restaurant is bringing its fresh and flavorful approach to Orange County residents with two new locations slated to open before year end. Smashburger has more than 170 locations now open in 27 markets across the globe, with plans to open at least 20 restaurants in Orange County over the next five years.

Smashburger, named after its own proprietary process of smashing, seasoning and searing each burger, is a fast casual sensation. Every Orange County Smashburger restaurant features a regional menu created with local flavors and tastes in mind. The Aliso Viejo menu includes:

The OC Smashburger 100-percent Certified Angus Beef burger topped with grilled sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, baby arugula, aged Swiss cheese and truffle mayo on an egg bun.
The L.A. Smashburger 100-percent Certified Angus Beef burger topped with crispy wonton, fried egg, cilantro, cucumber, lettuce, tomato and Japanese steakhouse ginger dressing on a black and white sesame seed bun.
Each Smashburger starts with fresh, 100 percent Certified Angus beef, never frozen and cooked to order, that is smashed using a proprietary smashing tool on a 400-degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the "better burger" experience, the juicy burger is served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses, and high-quality condiments.

While known for its "better burgers," Smashburger also offers a wide selection of other fast casual entrees, including tender marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, black bean and veggie burgers, fresh-tossed signature salads, hot dogs, kids' meals, and a variety of irresistible sides, including rosemary and garlic seasoned Smashfries, fried pickles, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including local beers, wine, and hand-spun Häagen-Dazs shakes.

The first Orange County Smashburger location will open in The Shops at Mission Viejo in November. An Aliso Viejo location will follow in December. For more information about Smashburger, visit http://www.smashburger.com.
