MONROVIA, CA, October 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) America's Family Pet Expo Washington (www.petexpowa.org)-the Northwest's largest pet and pet product event-comes to the Puyallup Fair and Events Center, November 3-4.

Spotlighting action-packed feature attractions and a big line-up of exhibitors, learning opportunities, contests and pet products, the Expo celebrates beloved pets of all varieties. It's also a one-stop source of information on the latest trends in pet care and new products from manufacturers and retailers.

Animals galore... both large and small:

With 1,000 both small and large animals on hand, the Expo is a haven for animal lovers and offers around the clock dog events and dozens of dog breeds on display, an assortment of cats, colorful birds, reptiles, exotic fish and more.

Animals will strut their stuff in numerous attractions, including Avian Actors of Hollywood, FeatherDance - Dancing with Friesians, Pet Adoption Grooming Makeovers, Adorable Adoptable Pets, to name a few.

Canines make a big splash:

Splash Dogs, sponsored by NutriSource, will make waves as water-loving canine contestants display their high-flying dock jumping and diving skills each day of the show. Be prepared to be entertained at Jump! The Ultimate Dog Show, sponsored by The IAMS Company, showcasing action-packed canine stunts set to lively music. Most of the performing pet stars have been adopted from various animal shelters.

Renowned dog trainer Renee Jones shares tips on enhancing our relationship with "man's best friend" through basic obedience techniques. An expert on the dog psyche, all the dogs Jones uses in her presentations are from exhibiting animal rescue organizations at America's Family Pet Expo.

Reptile expert Corbin Maxey:

Reptilian pets continue to grow in popularity and expert Corbin Maxey will share information about these fascinating animals. The twenty-two-year-old has appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Today Show," and various other national and local television programs. For over a decade, Corbin and his reptile friends have been visiting schools, libraries, zoos and aquariums sharing his knowledge and messages of responsible pet ownership.

Birds of a feather:

The many colored feathers of the Avian Actors of Hollywood will impress and entertain as a menagerie of birds take flight in the lively aerobatic presentation. Joe Krathwohl, the "Birdman of Las Vegas," has been training and showing birds in presentations for over 30 years.

Promoting responsible pet care-- one child, one aquarium at a time:

Children ages 5-16 are invited to participate in the Kid's Aquarium Contest, with the colorful entries on display in the ShowPlex during the two-day Expo. It's a unique learning program designed to teach children about the environment, ignite their creativity and the rich rewards of pet care.

Each participant receives a 10-gallon heated aquarium kit to take home--with the children adding their own fish and unique decorations. The entries are judged according to age group and three categories: Natural, Creative and Themed. Advance registration is required--for more information visit http://petexpowa.org/kids-aquarium-contest/contest-overview/.

The Aquatic Experience is a new feature offering attendees "through-the-glass" underwater views of saltwater and freshwater fish and plant displays from around the world. This attraction offers inspiration and how-to information about our underwater companions.

Adopt a pet at the show:

The Pet Adoption area, sponsored by VCA Animal Hospitals, abounds with tails thumping and whiskers twitching as loving animals wait to share their lives with new owners. Adding glamour is the Adoption Dog Makeovers and Fashion Show, with renowned dog trainer Renee Jones taking the microphone to introduce the newly-coiffed dogs on the runway.
