Attorney Lance A. Harke a Featured Speaker at Florida International University College of Law

Attorney Lance A. Harke will lecture on 'Truth in Advertising in American and Jewish Law' to FIU College of Law students and faculty.

MIAMI, FL, October 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) On Monday, November 5, 2012 attorney Lance A. Harke, a founding partner of the Miami Shores-based commercial litigation and consumer class action law firm of Harke Clasby & Bushman LLP, (www.harkeclasby.com) will lecture on "Truth in Advertising in American and Jewish Law." The lecture is a part of the series, "American Cases through the Eyes of the Talmud," sponsored by the South Florida Center for Jewish Ethics. Harke will speak to students on the topics of Truth in Labeling and False Advertising.

"I am honored to be speaking to law students and future attorneys on the ethics of advertising in American and Jewish law," says Lance A. Harke. "Advertisers with deceptive motives have the potential to persuade individuals into commercial transactions they might otherwise have avoided, if provided with all of the facts. Consumers have the right to know just what they are purchasing, and given that information visibly on the label."

Harke will lecture in conjunction with Rabbi Dovid Schoen, Dean of the South Florida Center for Jewish Ethics. This lecture is a continued effort of the Center to educate the legal profession in South Florida about Jewish law and ethics in American life.

Lance Harke concentrates his trial practice in the areas of products liability, insurance and complex class action and other commercial and consumer litigation matters. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Harke graduated from the University of Florida, with high honors and received his B.A. degree in Philosophy. He received his law degree from University of Miami School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, and was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Miami Law Review.
