SPANISH FOLKS, UT, October 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) Despite facing rigorous competition in an entrepreneurial-driven area, Five Star Painting has maintained its ranking among the top 50 businesses in Utah Valley for four years in a row. Utah Valley Business Q Magazine's fifth annual rankings recently revealed the international painting franchise at No. 30 on its list of Fastest-growing Companies.

Utah Valley Business Q Magazine is a quarterly publication that spotlights the top 50 businesses in Utah Valley and their entrepreneurs. Companies are selected from a pool of qualified applicants and represent a broad range of industries in various markets.

Co-founder Scott Abbott and his colleagues at Five Star Painting have helped over 100 franchisees become successful business leaders in their local communities. From Kung-Fu teachers to accountants and sports stars, Five Star Painting's proven system has molded people from every walk of life into successful entrepreneurs.

"Our main focus here is our franchisees' success," Abbott said. "It's all about making them happy and profitable in their area. They've become like family, and that's one of the most rewarding aspects of my job."

Five Star Painting began when co-founders Chad Jones and Conrad Kolba started a small house painting business to fund their college educations. Long-time friend, Abbott, soon jumped on board and with his entrepreneurial spirit and savvy business techniques, the company grew to become what is now the world's fastest-growing painting franchise.

"It's crazy to imagine where we began and compare it to where we are today," Abbott said. "We started with a small operation, and we knew the only way to expand was to attract people who wanted to own a business. We had a vision, and we took risks. Five Star Painting began with one location in Edmonton, Alberta, and now operates in over 100 locations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
