TYNGSBORO, MA, October 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) During the last weekend of October 2012, on October 27th and 28th, Parlee Farms in Tyngsboro, MA will be holding its annual "All You Can Carry Pumpkins" event.
During the event, visitors to Parlee Farms can take home all of the pumpkins that they can hold unassisted in their arms for only $20. In the past, customers have been able to hold up to 100 pounds of pumpkins!
"This is a very popular event that we hold at the end of each season. It's a great way to get some of those carving pumpkins for Halloween!" said Ellen Parlee, owner of Parlee Farms.
Parlee Farms has other attractions planned for the last weekend of the season too. Hayrides will be taking pumpkin pickers to the Nashua NH area pumpkin patch on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm weather permitting. With Halloween right around the corner, children are encouraged to wear their costume to the farm that Sunday. The Parlee Farms staff will also be wearing their costumes that day!
Parlee Farms grows over 12 acres of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes, from mini-pumpkins to pumpkins topping the scales at over 40 pounds. Those 12 acres of land at Parlee Farms produce over 40,000 pumpkins annually. Taking the family to the farm to pick out the perfect jack-o-lantern is a great way to enjoy the crisp fall air and warm sunshine.
Parlee Farms is a 93-acre pick your own fruit farm in the Boston MA area. In addition to pick your own, Parlee Farms also has a Farmstand that offers current crops that are fresh picked and ready for visitors to take home from June through October. Mary's Country Kitchen, the bakery at Parlee Farms, offers tasty treats related to each picking season as well as ice cream. The signature items made with Parlee Farms' fruit are made from scratch in small batches. The fall signature item is our Homemade Apple Crisp. Scones are available plain or made with fruit. Tea breads are also made with Parlee Farms fruit, including blueberry, strawberry, and combinations including pumpkin and fresh lemon. All make great gifts to bring to someone's home or just to enjoy with your morning coffee. Annie's Animal Barns is another popular attraction at Parlee Farms that includes two barns filled with young farm animals such as goats, sheep, chickens, and bunnies to feed and pet.
