Wednesday 21st November celebrates National Freelancers Day. Now in its fourth year, this once a year event acknowledges the massive contribution of flexible workers to the UK economy.

Now in its fourth year, this once a year event acknowledges the massive contribution of flexible workers to the UK economy. Sponsored by the Professional Contractors Group (PCG) considered 'the voice of freelancing', National Freelancers Day not only celebrates the freelancing community, but holds various events for those looking to develop their business or those who are interested in freelancing.

The highlight of the day is the National Freelancers Day Event Seminar, held at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. The seminar is hosted by BBC newsreader and broadcaster Sue Lawley who, in line with her hosting duties, will be sharing her personal knowledge and insight into the freelance way of working offering helpful hints and tips to securing work. Along with a film premier, top freelance journalist, author and broadcaster Alastair Campbell will be holding an incisive debate about key issues in the current economy all followed by a networking reception. In addition to this seminar, there are free webinars, specially commissioned movies and quizzes.

The number of towns recording a rise in home sales has more than doubled over the past year, according to research by Lloyds TSB.
