New GSX Solutions Study Reveals Importance of Monitoring Critical Lotus Domino System Components

New white paper explains how GSX Change Monitoring module helps identify the impact of changes on Domino service delivery

2012-10-27
ORCHARD PARK, NY, October 27, 2012 (Press-News.org) GSXSolutions [www.gsx.com], the global leader in proactive, consolidated monitoring and reporting of enterprise collaboration environments, including MicrosoftExchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) and LotusNotes, today announced publication of a major white paper detailing the importance of monitoring critical Lotus Domino system components and how the GSX Change Monitoring module helps identify the impact of changes on service delivery.

The new study details how the control of changes to Lotus Domino messaging environments is critical to the security, quality, and costs of service delivery.

"The Change Monitoring module for Domino is a natural extension of GSX Monitor capabilities" said Antoine Leboyer, CEO of GSX. "It goes beyond monitoring the availability and performance of critical system components to the monitoring of configuration items that impact service delivery."

Gartner states that while basic system monitoring tools can reduce downtime by 10 percent, IT Managers must also be able to rapidly identify the impact of approved changes on service delivery. GSX found that these customer change monitoring requirements vary by sector. The banking and pharmaceutical industries are subject to stringent regulatory requirements and require rapid configuration updates. Other less regulated industries still need to know immediately if a change in one region could impact service delivery in others.

The GSX Change Monitoring module for Domino targets changes in the Notes.ini file to see what server tasks have been added or removed, and key configuration items in the NAB (Name and Address book):
Server Documents
Server Configuration Documents
Program Documents
Policies
Web Configuration Documents
Groups
Connection Documents
Domain Documents

By ensuring that key configuration and access controls settings are automatically monitored and reported, IT Managers can successfully control their Domino messaging and collaboration environments.
