Greensboro Orthodontist Dr. Mark Reynolds Offers Free Flu Shots to the Dental Community of Guilford County, NC

Reynolds Orthodontics sponsored flu vaccinations for over 120 staff members from general dental offices in Guilford County. Despite the CDC's recommendation that all healthcare providers get an annual flu vaccine, they are an under-vaccinated group.

2012-10-28
GREENSBORO, NC, October 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) Orthodontist Dr. Mark Reynolds of Reynolds Orthodontics sponsored flu vaccinations for over 120 staff members from general dental offices throughout Guilford County for three days in October.

Reynolds Orthodontics' two locations in Greensboro and Summerfield, North Carolina offered the free shots during the lunch hour and after work. Team members from various general dental practices in the area were encouraged to visit either location to receive their free flu shot.

"Flu shots are a simple thing for us to offer to the dental community and provides a lot of protection for us, our families, and our patients," said Dr. Reynolds. "It just makes sense. We have had patients thank us for doing our part to battle against the flu. No one wants to be sick."

Despite the CDC's recommendation that all healthcare providers get an annual flu vaccine, they remain an under-vaccinated group with fewer than half of health care workers reporting getting vaccinated. The National Influenza Vaccine Summit notes that the vaccination of healthcare providers has been shown to reduce influenza infection and absenteeism and deter the spread of the flu amongst patients.

This effort underscores the commitment of Reynolds Orthodontics in promoting the health and well-being of their community, and the importance of vaccinating dental team members - not only to protect their own health, but their patients as well.

Orthodontist Dr. Mark Reynolds of Reynolds Orthodontics has locations at:
1304 Beaman Place, Greensboro NC 27408 (336) 274-7649
