Why Does Leadership Suck? Kompelling Publishing Launches New Book "Why Leadership Sucks".

New book on small business leadership answers the question nagging Generation X, Y, and Z

2012-11-01
GREENBAY, WI, November 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) While most books on leadership and business management today are written by authors that are part of the Baby Boomer generation, this one is written by a Generation X'er. Miles Anthony Smith has launched his new book Why Leadership Sucks: Fundamentals of Level 5 Leadership and Servant Leadership. With the Boomer Generation clinging to "top-down" style leadership and Generations X, Y, and Z clamoring for a more collaborative approach, Why Leadership Sucks provides solutions to leaders and followers who want to stay relevant in the ever-changing workplace.

Why does leadership suck? Miles says, "It sucks because real leadership is hard and requires selfless service. It sucks because the buck stops here, meaning it is ultimately the leader's responsibility to deal with all of the crap. It requires less effort to 'lead' in the harsh, dictatorial, selfish way that is so prevalent today instead of balancing our hard and soft nature. And today's young leaders need to know what true leadership is, since the Boomer generation is largely still clinging to the old top-down style of control."

The book points to an alternative to selfish "leadership" in servant leadership or Level 5 leadership and practical steps to move toward becoming a Level 5/servant leader. This style of leadership is uncomfortable, humbling, self-denying, painful, and counterintuitive; nonetheless, it is the only kind of leadership that brings lasting results, genuine happiness, and true self-fulfillment. Miles says, "Generation, X, Y, and Z are clamoring for a more team-focused, coaching style of leadership.

Generation Flux leadership expert, Miles Anthony Smith, of Green Bay, Wisconsin was fortunate to have been given a significant leadership opportunity by his father at the age of 25 which has birthed his mission in life: "To Chart the Course, Pave the Pathway, and Light the Lane for Others to Eclipse My Own Success in Leadership.

The book is available in paperback via Amazon.com and also available in eBook via Amazon's Kindle, Barnes and Noble's Nook, Apple's iBooks, and Kobo's eReader. For more information about Miles and his new book Why Leadership Sucks, visit http://www.MilesAnthonySmith.com .
