Pet Supplies Plus to Offer Premium Products, Expert Insight for Local Animal Lovers

2012-11-01
SOUTH LYON, MI, November 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) It is the year of the spoiled pet, and by the end of this month, South Lyon animals will be lining up to celebrate the grand opening of Pet Supplies Plus, the nation's most trusted network of community pet retailers for food, equipment, toys and more. Located at 22381 Pontiac Trail in South Lyon, Pet Supplies Plus will hold a grand opening celebration on Saturday, October 27, and Sunday, October 28, 2012.

The new Pet Supplies Plus will offer South Lyon residents a wide variety of pet toys, equipment and a broad range of food from premium items to basic grocery products, including an extensive selection of natural foods. Despite its boutique environment, Pet Supplies Plus will carry an unbeatable selection of food and supplies. The 10,000-square-foot store will also offer a full menu of grooming services tailored to each pet's needs including haircuts, dog washes, full body brushing, flea treatment, and nail, skin, ear and oral care.

"We understand the special bond between owners and their pets, and at the end of the day, we believe that pets own people - not the other way around," said Dave Bolen, CEO of Pet Supplies Plus. "We look forward to becoming an integral part of the South Lyon community and getting to know all the neighborhood pets and their people by name."

To mark Pet Supplies Plus official entrance into South Lyon, on October 27, the neighborhood pet center is inviting families to a grand opening celebration that will include cider and donuts, free nail trims for dogs and cats, a visit from Leader Dogs for the Blind, a VIP PetCare clinic, cat adoptions and contests to win gift cards and a one-year supply of pet food. The events will be replicated on Sunday, October 28, but instead of serving cider and donuts, the neighborhood pet center will host a Pets 'N People Pizza Party as part of the grand opening celebration.

Pet Supplies Plus maintains a professional, experienced, knowledgeable and courteous staff. Their extensive training ensures that all employees are able to answer a broad range of questions regarding household pets from dogs and cats to exotic birds, reptiles and fish, and are experts in natural, organic and holistic foods. Pet Supplies Plus of South Lyon will also hold public pet adoptions from local shelters and regularly host low-cost wellness and vaccine clinics to ensure local pets are healthy, happy and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Founded on the idea that convenient, quality service for busy consumers was lacking in the pet industry, retail veterans, Jack Berry and Harry Shallop, opened the first Pet Supplies Plus in Redford, Michigan in 1988. Since then, the neighborhood-style pet store has become a household name in more than 20 states.
