WOODLAND HILLS, CA, November 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) Phillips Charitable Organizations has donated comfort and care bags to the National Military Center in Bethesda, MD for 57 wounded veterans who have served in Afghanistan. This donation is part of the USO-Metro Comfort and Care Bag Program, which provides wounded veterans with amenities to raise their spirits while they recover and rehabilitate from serious injuries.
The National Military Center located in Bethesda, MD usually services 20-30 wounded soldiers at a time. However, due to a rise in violence in Afghanistan, 57 soldiers are currently recovering in the medical center and many are suffering from very traumatic injuries, including multiple amputations.
Because of this, the National Military Center devised a programmed called the USO-Metro Comfort and Care Bag program to boost morale and raise the spirits of our country's heroes. They reached out to Phillips Charitable Organizations to assist in the program and the charity founded by Infor CEO Charles Phillips responded with assistance. Infor CEO Charles Phillips actually served in the military as a Captain and Information Officer with the US Marine Corps in the Second Battalion, 10th Marines. Phillips Charitable Organizations purchased 57 care packages for our nation's vets.
Phillips Charitable Organizations is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit foundation providing financial help for single parents, students interested in engineering, and wounded veterans. 100% of the foundation's assets are disbursed directly to grantees. Phillips Charitable Organizations' charter: urgent cases where a timely bootstrap grant can initiate meaningful change toward a planned recovery.
