IAPD Announces 2012 Circle of Champions (Education) Award Recipients

The International Association of Plastics Distributors (IAPD) recently announced it's award recipients for the Educational "Circle of Champions " award.

2012-11-02
OVERLAND PARK, KS, November 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) The International Association of Plastics Distribution (IAPD), the international trade association comprised of companies engaged in the distribution and manufacture of engineering plastics, has announced the 2012 Education Circle of Champions Award Recipients.

Redwood Plastics Corporation was among three companies selected to receive the Education Circle of Champions Award, which recognizes member firms that actively participate in and promote education and training initiatives within their company, IAPD and the plastics industry. IAPD 2011-2012 president Bob Bacon presented the awards at IAPD's Annual Convention and Plastics Expo in Chicago, IL. These recipients have placed significant value on continuing plastics education inside and outside their organizations through the implementation and use of IAPD's training programs and educational resources.

A new award criteria model was adopted for 2012 in which eligible companies had to meet an initial minimum qualification of a percentage of employees passing Level 1 of the IAPD Plastics Certificate Program and/or passing the Excellence in Sales Certificate Program. As well, they could achieve additional points by participating in any number of training/education activities, including establishing a new companywide training program or upgrading/replacing a current program, having corporate representation in at least eight IAPD education events and using at least three IAPD education materials in their company, to raise their level of recognition to Bronze (200 points), Silver (300 points) or Gold (400 Points).

This year's award recipients far exceeded the minimum point levels, going above and beyond in their efforts. Total Plastics earned a Bronze award with 250 points, Redwood Plastics Corporation achieved Silver with 375 points and Laird Plastics soared past Gold with 450 points."The Education Committee is pleased to see the level of participation in IAPD offerings and encourage companies of all sizes and types to apply these criteria to drive their training and education activities to the next level," said IAPD Education Committee Chair Chad Wittkopp.
