LOS ANGELES, CA, November 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) (National Authors Day) - Shirley You Jest! Book Awards, the only comedy and humor indie book contest offering publicity-based prizes, congratulates its first place (Shirley LOL) and second place (Shirley HAH) winners.
Presented by Liz D Publicity & Promotions, SYJ! invited independent authors who "bring the funny" to submit their 2011-2012 eBooks and print titles. The contest received a large number of humorous self-published mysteries, chick lit fiction, and memoirs. Comedic situations and characters ranging from the supremely bizarre to everyday wacky entertained SYJ!'s panel of judges. "I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did while reading through the entries," confessed Shirley You Jest! Book Awards judge Jana Burkhardt. "This contest is a testament to the wonderfully diverse senses of humor that exist within all of us. The world is lucky to be given so many opportunities to laugh."
