PORT ORCHARD, WA, November 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) VanMarter Project, a nationally touring rock band from the Northwest, has committed to supporting music education in cities they tour. They will be performing a fundraising concert November 19, 2012 for Granite Park Junior High School, located at 3031 S. 200 E. Salt Lake City, Utah. General admission is $5 and tickets are available at http://www.vanmarterproject.com or in the school's front office. All ages are welcome. Opening talent showcase by Granite Park students; doors open at 5:30pm.
The debut album Don't Look Back by VanMarter Project continues to gain momentum with the single "Guaranteed Tomorrow" breaking the Top 40 on the Mediabase Hot A/C Indicator Chart. The band will be touring to the Midwest and appearing at the Gibson Showroom at Fox5 Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada in November.
A percentage of ticket and album proceeds from the show will be donated by VanMarter Project and their label, Hydrus Media. Online purchases of the Don't Look Back album made November 19th from the website http://www.vanmarterproject.com will be included. The Fender Music Foundation will donate musical instruments selected by Granite Park Junior High. The Fender Music Foundation is a music charity funded by people who want to change the state of music education. Program expenses are covered by donations, which may be made at http://www.fendermusicfoundation.org. Donations allow instruments to be provided to school music classrooms, after school programs and music therapy programs.
A previous benefit concert at Granite Park Junior High School was held October 2011, however, the band has made a goal to return and raise more support for the school this year. Granite Park Junior High, a Title One school, has a diverse student body and strong staff/teacher support. Members of VanMarter Project will visit classes during the day of the show and speak with students about the positive influence music has in their lives, the impact on their education, and most importantly, never giving up on their dreams.
As an Empty Vessel Affiliate Artist, VanMarter Project also advocates the Music Matters Project which provides music education, appreciation, and intervention for under-served and at-risk youth. "It's all in vain if the only thing we have done is create 'good music' without impacting the heart and soul of humanity" quotes Gerry Van Mansfeld, Executive Director of Empty Vessel Music.
