SIA Group Expands Market Presence With New Office In Asheville, N.C., Led By Deepak Poplai

RALEIGH, NC, November 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) Don Mills, president of SIA Group (http://www.siagroup.net), a full-service insurance agency with six offices throughout North Carolina, has announced that it is opening its newest office in Asheville, N.C., with agent Deepak Poplai, who has 24 years of industry experience. Poplai specializes in hospitality insurance and will lead a department dedicated to that field, which encompasses underwriting hotels, convenience stores, restaurants and similar operations. He will bring more than 300 hospitality clients to SIA Group as Poplai transfers from his previous position with the White Insurance Group in Black Mountain, N.C., where he spent the last 12 years as a hospitality insurance specialist. Besides underwriting insurance services, he spends time educating his clients on the latest changes in federal and state laws and how to remain in compliance with them.

Poplai earned his bachelor's degree in commerce at the University of Delhi, which is the equivalent of an MBA in the United States. He came to Swannanoa, N.C., to attend Warren Wilson College prior to going into business. His professional memberships include the Asian American Hotel Owners Association. A native of India, he resides in Baltimore Lake, N.C.
