Beatrice Mason was raised in a musical home in Rio de Janeiro and started studying music and singing in choirs at the age of 6. Her mother is a choir conductor and encouraged both Beatrice and her sister to learn musical theory and to play instruments. However, when the time came to choose a career, Beatrice decided to go to law school and practiced law for some time both in Brasil and in the United States.
For the past 8 years, after leaving her law practice, she has been performing and developing a cult following in Rio and other cities in Brasil, as well as in Europe. Beatrice performed to standing room only crowds at the International Music Conference, Midem 2012 in Cannes, France, which took place last January. Her first highly acclaimed CD, Mosaico, received excellent reviews and brought forward a new generation of very talented composers whose songs she recorded.
Beatrice's next upcoming project has been granted a government sponsorship and will focus on the songs of South-American writers and composers; Jorge Drexler, Vitor Ramil and Kevin Johansen. The project will be recorded both in Brasil and in the United States in 2013.
Additionally, Beatrice is currently working on her next solo album, which is to be released in 2013 as well. She will be collaborating with several top USA producers and writers. More information on her music can be found here: http://www.beatricemason.com.br
