NFL Athletes Join Forces in Miami to Host "Each One, Teach One All-Stars Community Outreach Camp

The "Each One, Teach One All-Stars Community Outreach Camp" will connect professional athletes with South Florida youth to serve as mentors and use sports as the vehicle to promote scholastic achievement, healthy lifestyle, and social development.

MIAMI, FL, October 14, 2010 (Press-News.org) A host of NFL athletes have joined forces to collaborate with South Florida's VSports Marketing Group for the "Each One, Teach One All-Stars Community Outreach Camp" being held on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 6:00-8:30pm at the Little River Park located at 10525 NW 24 Avenue, Miami, FL.

The free youth camp open to youth athletes ages 5-16 is created to use sports as an outlet that connects local youth to professional athletes who will serve as mentors and assist in guiding them in the areas of social consciousness, academic and scholastic achievement, youth athletics, and lifestyle enrichment through healthy options. Camp organizer, VSports Marketing Group, anticipates partnerships with local organizations to promote educational development for youths and scholarship opportunities to deserving high school athletes graduating in 2011 who show promise academically and on the field.

Activities planned for the "Each One, Teach One All-Stars Community Outreach Camp" include:

• Meet and Greet the Pros
• Autograph signing
• 7-on-7 Flag Football
• Youth forum with the professional athletes to discuss matters and concerns related to academics as well as social and athletic development
• Teen Chat session with two of the country's top high school safeties: Jeremy Cash of Plantation High School and Jabari Gorman of Pace High School
• Healthy Living/Lifestyle workshop

Collaborators and professional athletes involved with the camp include:

Miami Dade County Parks & Recreation, WEDR 99.1, Moss Management Group, Title Sports Drink, WMBM 1490, Little River Scholar's Inc., 1-on-1 Fitness, Star Studded Entertainment, New Birth Baptist Church, Lorenzo White (former NFL Pro-Running Back for the Houston Oilers), Olrick Johnson (former NFL linebacker for Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets), Troy Stradford (former NFL running back for the Miami Dolphins and host of WFTL 640 and WFTL 850 in Fort Lauderdale, FL), Lamar Thomas (former NFL Wide Receiver for Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins), Troy Drayton(former NFL Tight End for Miami Dolphins), Mark Higgs (former NFL Running Back for Miami Dolphins), Dwayne White (former NFL Offensive Lineman for the New York Jets), James McKnight (former NFL Receiver for Miami Dolphins), and Bernard Ford (former NFL Receiver for the Houston Oilers).
