Stewart Participates In Durham's Creative Food Drive

North Carolina Engineering And Landscape Architecture Firm Joins Community Charity Competition To Benefit Housing For New Hope And The Food Bank Of Central And Eastern North Carolina

DURHAM, NC, November 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) Robert Macia, PE, LEED AP, president of Stewart (http://www.stewartinc.com), one of the largest engineering and landscape architecture design firms in North Carolina, has announced that the firm sponsored and participated in Durham's Creative Food Drive (CDF), a community charity event and competition that requires teams to design and construct structures using non-perishable food items. Stewart won the award for best overall structure for their unique design and creativity.

The charity event, hosted by MHA Works, an architecture firm with offices in Durham and Greenville, N.C., donated all proceeds to Housing for New Hope and The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. This year, CFD raised 12,056 pounds of food, equating to 10,152 meals for those in the community in need. The event, held at Rigsbee North at Motorco and Fullstream breweries on Saturday, Sept. 22, featured live music, local food and beer, door prizes, and a host of fun, family-friendly activities.
